Detecting and locating leaks over long pipeline segments has become possible and is being implemented following the completion of R&D at TDI. The testing is performed using two synchronized laptops/tablets connected to the end points of the segment.
Detection stage using a simple acoustic detector with replaceable sensors for different pipe materials and diameters.
Tracing stage using electromagnetic system with a generator connected to a pipeline and tracing antenna.
The stage of obtaning a correlation function on the correlator which pinpoints the location of the leak.
Direct listening stage of the ground the point obtained on the correlator using a ground detector including a geophysical sensor and a laptop.
